He has served in a variety of practice leadership and management roles during his career, including being elected to the firm’s Board of Partners & Principals. ![]() Joe joined the firm in 1993, and was admitted to the partnership in 2001. Prior to that, Joe was the leader of our Technology, Media and Telecommunication (TMT) consulting business for the US, Japan and China, and he has built a reputation as a trusted, pragmatic and thoughtful advisor to clients as they navigate through accelerating technology changes and increasing regulatory complexity. Previously serving as the Chief Digital Officer, Joe defined and executed the vision to digitally enable the firm, and better leverage technology and talent to bring greater value (and experience) to our people and clients. This includes accelerating our growth in go-to-market products and digital solutions, as well as the firmwide technology capabilities. In this role, Joe is responsible for leading the firm through the next wave of digital transformation. Joe is a Vice Chair - Chief Products and Technology Officer. Tim is a Boston native, a runner, and proud father of six children. He graduated from Babson College where he studied accounting and communications, and joined the firm after graduation. He is a certified public accountant in Massachusetts and New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Tim has over 30 years of diversified experience serving clients across the globe. He also founded CEO Action for Racial Equity to identify and promote scalable and sustainable policies and corporate best practices to address systemic racism and social injustice. Tim worked with a small group of CEOs to launch CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™- now the largest ever CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with more than 2,400 signatory organizations. He also serves on the Financial Accounting Foundation’s Board of Trustees and is the Co-Chair of its Standard-Setting Process Oversight Committee. He also serves as a member of the Governing Board at the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ), a non-partisan and non-profit group dedicated to enhancing investor confidence and public trust in the global capital markets. Tim is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Brookings Institution. He serves as Asia Pacific Americas (APA) Leader and oversees the execution of our network strategy in that region. Tim serves as a member of the Network Leadership Team (NLT), which includes the senior partners from the network’s four largest territories. He is responsible for setting the strategy, leading the culture, and setting the tone on quality for the firm’s 75,000 employees and partners. They cannot represent clients whose returns they did not prepare and they cannot represent clients regarding appeals or collection issues even if they did prepare the return in question.Tim Ryan is US Senior Partner of PwC, having been elected by his fellow partners. They may only represent clients whose returns they prepared and signed, but only before revenue agents, customer service representatives, and similar IRS employees, including the Taxpayer Advocate Service. Limited Representation Rights: Preparers without credentials as mentioned above have limited practice rights. Tax professionals with these credentials may represent their clients on any matters including audits, payment/collection issues, and appeals. ![]() Unlimited Representation Rights: Enrolled agents (EA), certified public accountants (CPA), and attorneys (ATTY) have unlimited representation rights before the IRS.
